Burren National Park

The Burren National Park is located about 25km south of Ballyvaughan, and it is approximately 1500 hectares in size. The Burren is filled with limestone pavement, hazel scrub, lakes, springs, cliffs, and much more. The highest point in the park is known as Knockanes, which is about 207m in the air. The park is famous around Ireland for its landscape and flora as well. There are free guided walks of the park organised on a regular basis between April and August. If you prefer to go solo, the park provides seven different walking trails; five trails begin from Gortlecka Crossroads, while the other two start from Slieve Carran. The walks vary in difficulty and length, going anywhere from 30 minutes to a few hours.
