Mizen Head Signal Station & Visitor Centre

Mizen Head is located about 26km southwest of the town of Schull, and it is Ireland’s most southwesterly point. Mizen Head is home to a signal station built in 1910 to save lives off the rocky shoreline. The views at Mizen are absolutely spectacular. Watch the waves of the Atlantic crash beneath you as you stand on top of the cliffs. Inside the Keeper’s House at Mizen Head, you will find the visitor centre. As you step outside the visitor centre, follow the path down the famous 99 steps and over the famous arched Mizen Head bridge that looks down on the gorge, a great way to conquer your fear of heights. From there, you will see the signal station, which is open to the public.
