Killary Harbour

One of three glacial fjords in Ireland

Killary Harbour is a fjord located down the road from the town of Leenaun. On the northern side of Killary Harbour lies Mweelrea, the highest mountain in Connacht at 814m high. To the south, you can see the Maumturk Mountains and the Twelve Bens, which are spectacular mountain ranges. Killary Harbour offers some of the most incredible scenery in all of Ireland, and you will be busy capturing jaw-dropping photos with your camera. You can also explore ‘Green Road’ nearby, a route that travels alongside the fjord and was built in the 19th century as a famine relief project.
